Over the past centuries, the castle has undergone a massive transformation from Baroque style to Gothic style. The final style that it has today was built around 1266 AD. Its Gothic structure represents the Czech monarchs and religious leaders that resided the castle during the Holy Roman Empire. In the present day, it is used as an official residence for the head of state.
